As we welcome you back to The Monsieur Didot the Residence, we are committed to providing you with a safe environment that aligns with the protocols working to defeat Covid-19. Consulted by experts and following government’s guidelines in food and water safety, hygiene and infection prevention, and in hotel operations, our new plan is redefining our cleaning and safety standards.

We will actively monitor and evolve our solutions to ensure a continued focus on the health and safety of our guests and associates.

Greece & Athens VS Covid-19

In relation to the spread of Covid-19, Greece and Athens have been very little affected, thanks to the exemplary efforts by the Greek government and citizens to contain the spread of Covid-19, and are destinations that tourists seem to prioritise in Europe.

Covid-19 Action Plan & Hotel Staff

Our hotel has a very small number of hotel staff, which allows a better control and practice of all health and safety protocols.  Our staff is trained according to the official protocols.

Our reception desk will provide our guests with all the inquired information about hospitals, health stations and Covid-19 hospitals, pharmacies and public Covid-19 helpdesks.

Appropriate distances between guests or between guests and hotel staff will be implemented, and all receipts and invoices will be sent through email to guests, avoiding paper exchanging.

Our hotel adapts to an action plan, regarding precaution and protection of our guests, employees and associates, in the event of a possible case of Covid-19.

We are a certified tourist accommodation in relation to measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by the relevant accredited certification body.

We have the necessary certification, special seal “Health First”, issued by Greek Ministry of Tourism.

Public Spaces

Our dedicated staff cleans surfaces with increased frequency, using certified disinfection products and steam cleaning. In addition, there are very limited common areas in our hotel, and therefore being in close proximity with other guests of the hotel can be easily avoided.

We have increased the distance between the tables at the terrace lounge, according to the guidelines by the Hellenic Ministry of Health.

Reception hours might be slightly modified due to the circumstances; however, guests will be notified in advance.

Hand Sanitizer-Personal Protective Equipment

Hand sanitizing stations are being installed at hotel entrance, the terrace lounge and also in every room. In addition, a medical kit with personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, etc) are provided to our guests upon request.

Linen cleaning and ironing by our assistant agent, follows agreed protocols for the elimination of bacteria and viruses including Covid-19.

Guest Rooms

Being an old residence, the hotel includes only 6 rooms and suites, having the capacity to accommodate only a small number of guests. The very small size of our hotel allows the daily thorough cleaning and disinfection of all hotel rooms, going above and beyond the official health protocols.

Meticulous cleaning, disinfection and very good room ventilation will take place between stays of guests. Check in and check out hours are modified to: check in time: 15.00pm and check out time: 11:00 am, in order to make sure that each room is perfectly ventilated and disinfected between stays of guests.

Changing the sheets, pillowcases and towels daily will be avoided and only carried out upon the request of guests. Turn down service is temporarily not provided.

Fabric surfaces (e.g. furniture upholstery) and all surfaces will be cleaned with a steam cleaner appliance.
The doors and windows of all rooms will be opened daily for natural ventilation.

Some decorative objects might be removed from rooms and suites, as well as multiple use objects such as hotel directories, notebooks, menus, magazines. You are kindly asked to leave a book you have read on your desk and not put it back on the bookcase, so cleaning staff will disinfect it.

Breakfast – Kitchens

Our kitchen follows a system to control and manage food safety related risk.
Goods are received by staff members who always wear gloves and masks.
All staff members will keep distance from one another, in accordance to the requirements of health authorities.

Entrance to the kitchen area is prohibited for the public.

We are offering our delicious breakfast in your room, or in comfortable takeaway boxes, which can be consumed outside the hotel. Personal protective equipment (such as gloves and face masks) are worn by the staff while your breakfast is being prepared and served which are disposed after use.

Air conditioning and space ventilation.

Following closely the Hellenic Ministry of Health guidelines on the use of air conditioning units, special attention is drawn into allowing natural ventilation in rooms and other areas of the hotel.

Guest transfers

Our assistant agents responsible for transferring our guests to and from the hotel follow agreed protocols and implement the necessary practices for the protection of the health and safety of our guests, according to the Hellenic Ministry of Health guidelines.
